Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally, using names when possible; escort them to tables and present menus.
• Manage reservations, bookings, seating arrangements, and waitlists; communicate waiting times clearly.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to support table turnover and service flow.
• Handle inquiries, requests, VIP arrangements, celebrations, and dietary needs; address concerns and escalate when necessary.
• Monitor dining-area cleanliness, ambiance, and readiness; answer calls and respond promptly to guest inquiries.
• Follow Marriott and Ritz-Carlton service standards and support personalized dining experiences and guest loyalty.

Skills and qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, professional grooming, customer focus, composure, attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability.
• Basic knowledge of restaurant operations and reservation systems.
• Previous luxury hotel or fine dining experience is preferred; familiarity with Marriott systems or reservation platforms is an advantage.

Work environment

• The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, including moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Duties may involve moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects; the description specifies lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance.
• Shift, weekend, and holiday work is required; maintain hygiene, grooming, and professional appearance standards.
