Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer role based in Doha, Qatar.
The HSE Officer will oversee daily health, safety, and environmental practices across client facilities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
include conducting regular site inspections, identifying hazards, performing risk assessments, and recommending corrective and preventive measures.
The role involves developing and implementing HSE procedures, delivering safety inductions and toolbox talks, and coordinating training to promote a strong safety culture.
The HSE Officer will investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, maintain HSE records and documentation, and collaborate with operations teams and clients to continuously improve workplace safety and environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge and practical experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health within facility management or similar environments.
- Proficiency in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) practices, including environmental risk assessment and waste management oversight.
- Strong understanding of Workplace Safety standards, hazard identification, and implementation of control measures.
- Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH (e.g., IGC or equivalent) or other recognized safety qualifications.
- Experience developing and delivering HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for diverse teams.
- Ability to conduct investigations, prepare clear reports, and track corrective and preventive actions.
- Familiarity with HSE management systems, documentation, and compliance with local regulations in Qatar or the GCC region (preferred).
- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviors at all organizational levels.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site across multiple facilities, adapt to changing operational needs, and collaborate effectively in a multicultural team.
