Role overview

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in healthcare informatics or health information management.
• Experience with health-information lifecycle processes, governance, standardised coding, exchange protocols, and reporting.
• Strong health-industry knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and policy controls.
• Proven data analysis, visualisation, or modelling skills and ability to translate information into policy or operational insight.

Key skills

• Health information governance and operating models; clinical and administrative coding and terminology governance.
• Data collection, storage, retrieval, access, retention, and reporting; HIE and health-system information flows.
• Data analysis, dashboards, population-health and utilisation reporting; policy development, controls, compliance, and education.
• Stakeholder engagement with healthcare providers, regulators, and technology vendors.

Preferred qualifications

• HIM, CHIMA/AHIMA, health-informatics, or data-governance certification.
• Standardised coding, claims, population-health, or payer data experience.
• Master data, metadata, data lineage, and source-of-truth practices.
• Experience shaping health-information policy at country-wide or health-system level.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-wide health-information policies, coding, governance, data lifecycle, and reporting practices.
• Ensure health information remains accurate, accessible, secure, interoperable, and useful for policy and operations.
• Manage health information collection, storage, retrieval, access, retention, and reporting practices.
• Guide clinical and administrative coding practices and terminology governance.
• Support Health Information Exchange and health-system information flows.
• Use data analysis, dashboards, and population-health and utilisation reporting to inform decisions.
• Develop policies, controls, compliance practices, and education for health-information management.
• Engage healthcare providers, regulators, and technology vendors.
