Responsibilities
- Plan and implement occupational health and safety policies and programs.
- Advise employees on safety-related topics and deliver regular educational seminars and webinars.
- Review policies and procedures and ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Work with HR to establish safety onboarding for new employees.
- Conduct risk assessments, enforce preventive measures, and monitor employee adherence.
- Identify process bottlenecks and provide timely solutions.
- Prepare reports on accidents and violations, determine causes, and present findings.
- Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and other work that could affect employee safety.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of safety legislation, procedures, and potentially hazardous materials or practices.
- Experience producing reports and writing health and safety policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of a safety management information system.
- Strong organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- BSc or BA in safety management or a similar field.
- Certificate in occupational health and safety and awareness of applicable legal requirements.
