Head of QA - AI & Automation (Fintech/Banking)

Overview

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Quality Assurance Engineering organization.
• Define the long-term QA vision, strategy, and operational roadmap across the business.
• Build a culture focused on quality ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with executive leadership to align quality initiatives with broader business and product objectives.

Automation & Quality Engineering

• Design and implement scalable automated testing frameworks across backend, frontend, API, and distributed systems.
• Drive adoption of intelligent and AI-assisted testing approaches to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Embed automated quality practices into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows.
• Establish testing standards, governance frameworks, and measurable quality KPIs across teams.

Platform Reliability & Delivery

• Ensure platform stability, scalability, security, and release readiness across all environments.
• Oversee end-to-end testing initiatives including regression, integration, performance, and exploratory testing.
• Identify systemic quality issues through metrics, analytics, and production insights.
• Improve engineering velocity while maintaining high standards for reliability and customer experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Compliance stakeholders.
• Support teams in embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to architectural and technical decisions that impact scalability, resilience, and maintainability.

Core Experience

• Proven experience leading and scaling QA or Quality Engineering functions within fast-growing technology organizations.
• Strong background in automation-first testing environments and modern QA methodologies.
• Expertise in test automation architecture, CI/CD integration, and cloud-native systems.
• Experience building testing strategies for complex distributed or microservices-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development and high-velocity product environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills.

Technical Expertise

• Experience leveraging AI or machine learning within QA and testing workflows.
• Deep understanding of automated testing frameworks, tooling, and best practices.
• Experience with performance, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and modern software delivery pipelines.
• Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to quality engineering.

Preferred Background

• Background in regulated industries such as fintech, SaaS, healthcare, or enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to security, compliance, and governance requirements within modern digital platforms.
• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent.
