Leadership and delivery
- Lead and develop local strategies aligned with the national strategic framework.
- Lead cluster operational delivery and contribute to national priorities.
- Represent the NPS in local strategic partnerships and national partnership and development meetings.
- Manage devolved budgets, competing demands, and resources.
- Oversee divisional functions and line-manage middle managers.
- Oversee local MAPPA arrangements, including chairing level 3 meetings.
- Make or advise on offender management decisions requiring senior management involvement, including recall to prison.
- Oversee operational complaints and participate in complaint resolution as needed.
- Oversee local recruitment, attendance management, disciplinary investigations, performance management, appraisals, grievances, and hearings.
- Lead assigned national projects or portfolios, work with the Divisional Senior Leadership Team, and deputise for the Deputy Director as required.
- Work with MOJ/NOMS Communications and implement the NOMS equality strategy.
- Ensure health and safety compliance and risk assessments; carry out victim agency, child safeguarding, estates, and pro-social modelling responsibilities.
