Role Summary
We are currently seeking a Head of MENA Patents to lead our Patents practice.
Head of MENA Patents will be responsible for setting service standards and driving legal excellence across the MENA region to achieve business targets.
What Will You Do?
Managerial & Strategic Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the regional Patent practice within MENA to ensure targets are met through regular performance and KPI monitoring;
- Drive revenue retention from existing clients as well as revenue generation through cross-selling services and new business opportunities;
- Manage the Patents practice revenue budget in coordination with Executive Management and Practice Group Heads and monitor financial performance against budget;
- Lead strategic initiatives and contribute to Executive Management and ExCom-level discussions related to the growth, direction, and operational implementation of the Patents practice;
- Establish service level standards for the MENA region to ensure productivity, operational efficiency, and high client satisfaction;
- Lead, coach, manage, and develop the Patent and paralegal teams to foster high engagement, continuous growth, accountability, and sustained individual and collective success;
- Promote the adoption of technology, systems, and AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support the continued evolution of the MENA Patents practice; and
- Promote positive working practices and a collaborative culture within the practice.
Operational & Technical Responsibilities
- Handle substantive day-to-day legal work within the MENA region;
- Provide strategic Patent advice and technical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders;
- Generate and share Patent expertise internally and externally while representing the Firm’s Patent team with credibility and professionalism; and
- Support the continuous improvement of operational processes, systems, and service delivery standards within the MENA Patents practice.
- What Are We Looking For?
- An engineering, computer science, chemistry, biotech, or physics degree;
- A senior-level Patent professional with experience leading Patent practices across the MENA region, ideally at Partner or equivalent level;
- Proven experience working closely with Executive Management, contributing to ExCom-level initiatives, and driving business development and revenue growth;
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing Patent and/or paralegal teams across multiple jurisdictions within the MENA region;
- Strong commercial, operational, and stakeholder management capabilities within a fast-paced regional environment;
- A technologically savvy professional with strong familiarity with systems and AI-driven solutions, ideally supported by a technology-related background; and
- Fluency in English.
