Role Overview
This is a C-suite-caliber operations hire: someone who has built and scaled an e-commerce logistics or wholesale operation from the ground up, who understands the economics of international merchandise sourcing from European and US suppliers, and who can set up the Dubai, Riyadh, and Istanbul wholesale hubs from nothing while simultaneously opening supplier relationships across Asia, Europe, and the United States. This role complements the CEO directly, ensuring the product arrives, is allocated correctly, and reaches the customer on time.
Experience & Requirements
- 10–12
- years of experience in e-commerce operations, logistics, or wholesale supply chain, with a minimum of one verifiable instance of building or significantly scaling an e-commerce logistics operation from an early stage.
- Proven track record in international merchandise procurement from European and/or US suppliers; experience with licensing or branded or licensed apparel supply chains is the highest-value background.
- Senior executive experience: must have previously held a VP of Operations, COO, or Head of Logistics title at an e-commerce or retail business.
- Deep
- knowledge of Dubai free trade zone operations, import/export documentation, re-export procedures, and UAE customs clearance.
- Established relationships with one or more of the target carrier partners: Aramex, Yurtici Kargo, Bosta, or equivalent regional last-mile providers.
- Financial
- literacy at the operating budget level.
- Arabic
- capability is an advantage.
- English fluency is mandatory.
- Comfortable with the pace and resource constraints of a pre-seed startup; must bring a network and relationships, not just a title.
