Head of Design

About This Role

We are hiring a Head of Design to own product design and user experience across the CASABOT platform. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and inherits a small in-house team of two.

This is a hands-on leadership seat. The Head of Design will contribute directly to the work, set the visual and interaction language for the platform, and build out the team over the next twelve to eighteen months. The trajectory is genuine — strong performance in the role positions the seat to evolve into Chief Design Officer.

What you will own

• Product design across the full CASABOT surface stack — HiveOS UI, BOTty interaction, mobile (iOS and Android), web, and the Augmented Reality experience.

• The CASABOT design system — patterns, components, accessibility standards, and design tokens.

• Brand stewardship — visual identity, motion language, and the consistency of how CASABOT shows up to customers, partners, and the public.

• Cross-functional partnership with the acting Chief Technology Officer, mobile engineering leads, and the Chief Revenue Officer on customer-facing surfaces.

• Hiring, mentoring, and growing the design organization as the company scales.

First ninety days

Three priorities, in order:

1. HiveOS UI — the in-home control surface customers and installers see every day.

2. Mobile — iOS and Android apps as the primary remote and management touchpoint.

3. BOTty interaction — the conversational and behavioral design that defines the CASABOT personality.

Year one and beyond

Expand ownership into web, the Augmented Reality experience, and full brand-system stewardship. Build the team — hiring decisions are yours to recommend and lead. Establish design as a peer function alongside engineering and commercial.

The temperament we need

CASABOT is a startup. The Head of Design must work both smart and hard — meeting deadlines is not optional, and the pressure is constant. We need a leader who delivers under load, makes decisions when information is imperfect, holds the line on quality, and does not break when timelines tighten. We are direct, ambitious, and we ship.

Location and working arrangement

Based in the United Arab Emirates is strongly preferred. Remote candidates with substantial overlap to the Gulf Standard Time business day will be considered. Some travel will be required.

Requirements

Required experience

• Senior product design experience leading multi-platform consumer products.

• Proven track record of shipping at quality and on schedule in a startup environment.

• Direct experience hiring, leading, and developing design teams.

• Deep, hands-on fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools.

• Comfort owning end-to-end work — research, interaction, visual, prototyping, and design QA.

• Track record of building and maintaining design systems at scale.

Preferred experience

• Smart home, consumer hardware, connected devices, or premium hospitality technology.

• Multi-surface design — mobile, web, embedded, and one or more of: spatial, AR, or voice.

• Brand-system fluency and the ability to partner with, or replace, agency support.

• Prior exposure to working in or near the Gulf region, or to expanding businesses across Europe.

We are open to candidates from other backgrounds, including software-as-a-service, where the work is strong and the appetite for our product space is genuine.

Compensation

CASABOT offers a competitive base salary calibrated to seniority and experience. Stock options form an integral part of the compensation package — the Head of Design will participate meaningfully in the company’s equity program. Specific figures, equity allocation, and vesting terms will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
