The Regional Head of Compliance Solutions [MENA region] will be responsible for leading, expanding, and managing the compliance and regulatory services portfolio across Middle East & North Africa markets.
This role oversees strategy, product development, commercial growth, regulatory engagement, and operational excellence to ensure the Apex Group delivers trusted, scalable, and market‑leading compliance solutions.
The position requires a strong regulatory background, deep understanding of compliance frameworks (AML/CFT, KYC, CRS/FATCA, ESG, corporate governance), and proven leadership in managing regional teams and cross‑border client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership and regional growth
- Development and implementation of a strategy for the compliance solutions team across the MENA region in collaboration with the country head and the regional managing director for the MENA region
- Identify emerging compliance trends, regulatory shifts, and market opportunities.
- Build strategic partnerships with regulators, industry bodies, and key market stakeholders.
Commercial Growth
- Support the country head and the regional managing director for the MENA region with prospects and deal negotiations in as far as compliance solutions are concerned
- Product leadership
- Work with global product teams to localise offerings for MENA regulatory frameworks (AML, KYC, sanctions, ESG, data privacy, governance, etc.).
- Provide insights for product enhancements and roadmap prioritisation.
Regulatory & Industry Engagement
- Maintain relationships with regulators (e.g., DFSA, ADGM and VARA etc.) and ensure compliance solutions remain aligned with local regulations.
- Participate in regional compliance forums, panels, and industry events.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert on MENA regulatory developments.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead and develop a high‑performing regional compliance team (sales, client delivery, product specialists).
- Oversee regional operations, resource planning, and budget management.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and client‑centricity.
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with key clients, including banks, fintechs, corporates, and government entities.
- Oversee the delivery of compliance advisory and technology implementations.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
Skills Required
- At least 15 years plus experience in a manager role incorporating the above functions.
- Strong Educational Background, preferably
- Strong selling skills to lead business development initiatives
- Proactive and willing to drive things forward.
- An ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines.
- Flexible in work approach due to nature of the role to meet client deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a pressurised environment.
- Capacity to problem-solve and ability to deal with complex issues.
- A participative management style that aims to motivate staff and develop their skills and capabilities.
