Role Overview

Client is a leading global EPC major in power transmission and distribution, delivering projects across India, the Middle East, CIS, and other markets.

Hiring a Head of Civil Engineering (Civil & Structural) in Riyadh to own engineering design for substation and power distribution projects.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role reporting to the Head of Engineering.

Full time, regular, office-based in Riyadh with short deputations to project sites and overseas offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own civil and structural design delivery across multiple projects and geographies.
  • Lead a team of Project Engineering Managers, Lead Engineers, Design Engineers, and Draughtspersons.
  • Manage client-approved engineering sub-consultants.
  • Support tender engineering with competitive, risk-aware solutions.
  • Deliver base design, detailed engineering, and drawings aligned with the site construction sequence.
  • Support Contracts on pre-bid queries and site teams on feasibility.
  • Coordinate with electrical, MEP, and instrumentation disciplines and with engineering heads in other geographies.
  • Drive standardisation, modularisation, and automation, including AI.
  • Build strong relationships with client and owners-consultant decision makers.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering; postgraduate degree in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience, with extensive civil and structural design of substations and industrial plants, indoor and outdoor.
  • Proven experience on indoor GIS and outdoor substations up to 400 kV: steel and RCC structures, levelling and grading, geotechnical aspects.
  • Command of BS EN, ASCE, Eurocodes, and Indian codes.
  • Working knowledge of precast design and installation and of construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in STAAD, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla.
  • Prior Middle East or KSA experience and exposure to international client practices is a strong advantage.
  • Track record of leading multicultural teams, managing outsourced design, and engaging clients at senior levels.

Compensation

  • Salary type: Monthly.
  • Salary range: SAR 50,000 to SAR 60,000 per month.
