Role overview

Technical and product leadership

• Lead optimization, machine learning, mathematical modelling, simulation, and algorithm development.
• Guide advanced analytical methods for complex customer and product challenges; influence platform planning, optimization, and decision-intelligence strategy and architecture.
• Partner across Product Management, Engineering, and customer-facing teams to solve real-world supply-chain problems.
• Lead research, experimentation, and prototyping that inform future product capabilities.
• Advise as a subject matter expert in optimization, AI/ML, and advanced modelling.
• Champion scalable, maintainable, production-ready approaches that balance innovation and business impact.

Team and function leadership

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Architects, Algorithm Developers, and Operations Research specialists.
• Build a culture of innovation, technical excellence, learning, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, and career development.
• Set the function’s vision, priorities, and operating model.

What Kinaxis is looking for

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
• Deep expertise in operations research, optimization, machine learning, mathematical modelling, decision science, algorithm development, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated success applying advanced analytical techniques to complex business and customer challenges.
• Experience defining technical vision, influencing strategy, and driving adoption of innovative organizational solutions.
• Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and customer-facing teams and lead through influence.
• Track record coaching senior technical talent; strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills.
• An advanced degree in a relevant discipline is an asset.

Location and work model

• Ottawa and Toronto locations are hybrid; other Canadian locations are remote.
