Position Overview

Reporting Line & Team

• Reports to: Production Manager / Studio Lead
• Works closely with: Print Production Operator, Client Services, Sales
• Direct reports: None

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original graphic designs for signage, banners, vehicle wraps, apparel, promotional items, packaging, and custom printed products.
• Interpret client briefs, create concepts, present design options, and revise work based on feedback.
• Maintain a consistent design quality across all client deliverables.
• Stay current with design trends, software updates, and industry best practices.
• Prepare print-ready files with correct dimensions, bleeds, resolution, colour modes, and file formats.
• Build and maintain a library of templates, design assets, and brand guidelines for recurring clients.
• Apply correct colour profiles for the target printing method (CMYK, spot colours, ICC profiles).
• Collaborate with print operators to understand substrate limitations, colour reproduction characteristics, and finishing requirements before finalising designs.
• Communicate with clients to clarify requirements, present designs, and manage revisions professionally.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional graphic design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and Affinity Designer.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for image editing and retouching.
• Solid understanding of colour science: RGB vs CMYK, colour spaces, gamut limitations, and colour profiles.
• Knowledge of print production fundamentals including resolution, bleeds, trim marks, and file preparation.
• Strong typography, layout, and composition skills.
• Ability to design for various substrates and printing methods (large format, UV, sublimation).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret client requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal education in graphic design or visual communication.
• Experience designing for vehicle wraps, signage, or apparel.
• Familiarity with 3D mockup tools for client presentations.
• Basic understanding of RIP software output requirements.
• Experience with packaging or dieline design.

Key Performance Indicators

• Design quality and client approval rate (target: 80%+ first-round approval).
• On-time delivery of artwork files (target: 95%+ on-time).
• Accuracy of print-ready file preparation (target: less than 5% rework rate).
• Contribution to repeat business through strong creative output.
