GIS ANALYST I

The employee will have the responsibility of

• · Performing a variety of Citywide GIS application development functions
• · Evaluating, installing, maintaining, and enhancing GIS applications
• · Creating custom GIS web applications and maintaining databases, functions, and services
• · Understanding of scripting within the ArcGIS environment
• · Overseeing and updating several land-based related data sets and coordinating on regional 911 addressing issues for the City of Killeen
• · Updating addresses within the Naviline Land Management database as needed
• · Utilizing data entry, data migration, and manipulation techniques to complete tasks
• · Understanding properties of maps, including distance, scales, and legends
• · Identifying source documents used to create maps, creating metadata to support GIS applications
• · Having knowledge of ESRI’s SDE Enterprise functionality and MS SQL
• · Collecting and converting mapping resources and data within the scopes of services for the Engineering/GIS division
• · Performing ad hoc mapping duties including advanced spatial and network analysis
• · Utilizing ArcGIS Model Builder to perform spatial analysis and develop applications
• · Preparing reports, graphical and tabular, using GIS tools
• · Collecting and converting field data using a Global Positioning System device and field equipment
