Key responsibilities
- Perform generator assembly, disassembly, overhauls, and major or minor inspections.
- Handle rotor removal, installation, lifting, and alignment activities.
- Inspect rotors, stators, bearings, seals, coolers, and related mechanical components.
- Measure and verify air gaps, bearing clearances, shaft alignment, and critical mechanical dimensions.
- Work with air-cooled, hydrogen-cooled, and water-cooled generator systems.
- Identify mechanical defects and recommend corrective actions and repairs.
- Support planned and emergency outages, generator rehabilitation, and troubleshooting projects.
- Follow OEM procedures, quality requirements, and site safety standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of hands-on field experience with large turbo-generators; 200 MW and above is preferred.
- Practical experience in generator assembly and disassembly, rotor handling, inspections, and overhauls.
- Experience with at least two cooling technologies: air-cooled, hydrogen-cooled, or water-cooled systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform critical clearance measurements.
- Experience with major OEMs; good English communication skills and commitment to site safety.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work at power plant sites for extended project periods.
Salary
- Salary is AED 13,000–16,000 per month.
