The General Manager leads the hotel’s overall operations, performance, profitability, and return on investment.
The role fosters a productive work environment, exceptional guest service, and compliance with quality and operational standards.
Operations and revenue
- Develop and monitor financial and operational plans, annual budgets, and business plans; recommend capital improvements.
- Maintain product quality and service standards and oversee prompt resolution of guest requests and complaints.
- Develop marketing opportunities and sales plans; oversee yield management to maximize revenue, RevPAR, and occupancy.
- Optimize banquet and outlet space and other revenue streams, including IT and rental.
People, compliance, and safety
- Drive colleague development, training, motivation, pay and benefit administration, and compliance with policies and local labor regulations.
- Mentor colleagues and provide performance feedback; foster a positive work environment.
- Liaise with government authorities, maintain community relationships, and handle media or community inquiries.
- Oversee security and preventative maintenance, and uphold health, safety, and environmental procedures.
