General Accountant

Role overview

What you will do

• Monitor food, beverage, and operating supply costs; analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Verify purchasing and receiving documents, conduct stock counts, reconcile inventory, and monitor consumption, wastage, transfers, and variances.
• Review receiving and stock procedures for control compliance; monitor expenses and investigate unusual fluctuations.
• Prepare cost, inventory, variance, and management reports; assist with month-end closing, journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Ensure accurate transaction recording, support budgets and forecasts, and coordinate with hotel departments on cost efficiency and savings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2–3 years of accounting experience; hotel or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Cost Control experience, particularly in food and beverage costing and inventory management, is highly preferred.
• Understand purchasing, receiving, stock control, inventory reconciliation, and cost analysis procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; Futurelog or SunSystems experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills; attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet deadlines.
