Senior Java Full Stack Engineer role at a product company operating in stealth mode.
Build and launch a new product, joining early to help shape the product and engineering practices.
Own features from technical design through production, working with product and engineering colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot backend services.
- Develop responsive web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Design and integrate REST APIs and event-driven services.
- Contribute to system design and architecture decisions.
- Improve platform performance, reliability, and security.
- Write tested code, participate in reviews, and support CI/CD pipelines and production releases.
- Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and help set technical standards as the team grows.
Requirements
- Significant professional software engineering experience at a senior level.
- Strong commercial Java and Spring Boot experience, plus strong React, JavaScript, and TypeScript frontend experience.
- Experience with microservices, API design, SQL databases, a major cloud platform, and Docker.
- Track record of shipping and supporting production software.
- Clear communication and a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred experience
- Kafka or another messaging platform is a nice to have.
- Kubernetes and infrastructure as code are nice to have.
- Startup or product company experience, especially at an early stage, is a nice to have.
