Build and maintain services and interfaces for platforms operating across regulated markets.
Own features from ticket through production, writing clean, well-tested code and helping keep platforms reliable as they scale.
The role includes extended-hours and on-call rotation across multiple regional markets.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, and ship end-to-end features spanning backend and frontend.
- Develop Java/Spring Boot or Python backend services and documented REST APIs.
- Build React interfaces with attention to usability, accessibility, and performance.
- Model and query data across MySQL NDB Cluster, MariaDB Galera, and PostgreSQL.
- Integrate payment partners and internal services, handling retries, timeouts, and idempotency.
- Write tests, review code, and help prevent production regressions.
- Work with Product, QA, Support, and DevOps using Jira and Confluence through release.
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems with Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK, resolving root causes.
Qualifications and experience
- 6+ years building and shipping production web applications as a full-stack developer, or strong backend experience with solid frontend skills.
- BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong backend experience in Java or Python; solid frontend experience with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases; understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful architectures.
- Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD; comfort with containers and Kubernetes deployment.
- Analytical full-stack troubleshooting skills and excellent written and verbal English.
- Experience in fintech, payments, wallets, or another regulated, high-availability transactional domain.
- Familiarity with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration and event-driven systems such as Kafka; awareness of secure handling of sensitive data.
Work arrangement
- Employment type is full-time and onsite; work location is in person.
- The role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
