About This Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Receptionist to handle day-to-day front desk operations. The role involves welcoming clients, receiving and processing diamond/jewellery goods, registering clients, understanding their requirements, updating records in the system, setting delivery timelines, and ensuring smooth handover of completed items. This is a basic yet important client-facing position in a professional diamond laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and visitors in a polite and professional manner at the reception.
  • Receive new goods (diamonds and jewellery) from clients, verify basic details, and log them accurately into the system.
  • Understand clients’ requirements by listening carefully and asking relevant questions about their grading or certification needs.
  • Register new clients in the system and maintain accurate client records.
  • Set realistic timelines for the processing of goods and clearly communicate them to the clients.
  • Answer client queries regarding services, status of their items, and general information.
  • Track and deliver ready goods to clients upon completion, ensuring all documentation is in order.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, directing inquiries, and supporting the team as needed.
  • Ensure all processes follow company security and confidentiality protocols (especially important when handling valuable goods).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (higher education is a plus).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or client service role (experience in jewellery/diamond trade or similar industry is preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Hindi (spoken and written). Knowledge of Gujarati & Arabic is a strong advantage.
  • Basic computer skills — comfortable using office systems for data entry and tracking.
  • Polite, patient, and service-oriented personality with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks calmly in a busy environment.
  • Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of basic confidentiality and security practices when dealing with valuable items.
