Forward Deployed Engineering Manager

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own work from business case through production by diagnosing operating models, process friction, and system interdependencies.
• Lead cross-domain deployments where planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and engineering intersect.
• Drive rapid experimentation from ambiguous problems to working production systems in days or weeks.
• Architect agentic solutions with agents, RAG, orchestration, and multi-system workflows across enterprise layers.
• Shape AI reinvention strategy with client CTO, CFO, and CISO stakeholders.
• Develop fundable value architecture, ROI backlogs, and multi-year adoption roadmaps.
• Define reusable deployment blueprints and patterns and help build the FDE practice.

Required experience

• At least 5 years of engineering experience and deep hands-on enterprise SCM or ERP transformation knowledge.
• At least 1 year designing and deploying production agentic AI solutions, including agents, orchestration, RAG, and context engineering.
• At least 2 years working with AI platforms, including multi-provider pipeline architecture.
• Deep design experience in one or more cross-domain processes such as Idea to Retire, Source-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, Order-to-Cash, or Plan-to-Deliver.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 12 years of experience; associate degree requires at least 6 years of experience.

Bonus qualifications

• Ability to bridge strategy, operating model design, business cases, and executable AI architecture.
• Client-embedded engineering team leadership with accountability for commercial outcomes.
• Credibility communicating deployment risk, operating model implications, and ROI to CTO, CFO, and CSCO stakeholders.
• Experience across multiple platforms, enterprise AI architecture, value architecture, reusable patterns, or rapid experimentation is a bonus.

Travel

• Travel is required and may reach 75%.

Compensation

• Annual salary ranges vary by location; the listed ranges span $80,400 to $316,300.
