Senior QC Engineer - Forging in the Quality function, reporting to the QC Manager.
Ensure forging products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications through effective quality-control processes.
Support defect reduction, production efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Implement QC procedures across the forging shop and control nonconforming products through internal NCR management.
- Prepare forging ITPs and product inspection plans for internal and external inspections.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished forging products against material standards and API 20B requirements.
- Record and analyze inspection results, manage shop-floor inspections, coordinate third-party inspections, and clear final products.
- Analyze defects, establish corrective and preventive actions, and provide quality feedback to improve production.
- Maintain and improve quality systems, including ISO 9001 and API Q1; manage customer and third-party audits with QA.
- Manage calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment and ensure measurement accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of quality-control experience in manufacturing; heavy open-die forging experience is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge of API Q1 and API 20B is preferred.
- Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, CMM, and ultrasonic testers; familiarity with visual and NDE inspection.
- Understanding of metallurgical properties, heat treatment, casting inspection, and applicable ASTM / EN standards.
- NDE ASNT / ISO 9712 Level II certification.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and MS Office skills.
