Role overview

Operating model and planning

• Own and expand the driver-based operating model for the base business and new products or business lines.
• Run annual budgeting and long-range planning, including stakeholder inputs, assumptions, cadence, and the consolidated executive plan.
• Own monthly and quarterly forecasting and variance analysis after accounting closes the books.
• Write financial narratives for the CFO, founders, board, and investors, and lead monthly business reviews.
• Assess planning-system options, recommend a system, and manage rollout.

Opportunity and spend analysis

• Build financial cases for products, verticals, channels, and partnerships, including market sizing, economics, capital commitments, and returns.
• Compare actual economics with underwriting assumptions and monitor acquisition costs, payback, retention, lifetime value, and contribution margin.
• Support capital-markets and investor diligence, modeling, and transaction analysis as needed.
• Develop build, buy, or partner decision frameworks.
• Underwrite vendor spending, support term negotiations, and provide budget owners with spending visibility.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ideally, 2+ years in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity and 2+ years in strategic finance or FP&A at a high-growth company.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a similarly quantitative field.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including driver-based operating models, three-statement mechanics, and scenario analysis.
• Accurate under deadlines; able to select decision-relevant analysis, communicate directly, and take ownership.
• Produces clear, precise, executive-ready work and revises conclusions when evidence changes.
