FIELD SPECIALIST – COMPLETIONS

Position overview

Completion operations

• Plan, supervise, and execute completion operations under company and customer procedures.
• Prepare completion tallies, review schematics, perform space-out calculations, and verify configurations before deployment.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and retrieve completion equipment and downhole tools.
• Supervise completion activities and ensure proper well-site execution.

Smart completion technologies

• Support smart completion operations and install and operate downhole gauges, Intelligent Control Valves, fiber-optic systems, and other intelligent completion technologies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and completion-system issues to minimize non-productive time.

HSE, quality, and reporting

• Inspect equipment, conduct pressure tests, and perform risk assessments before and during operations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, quality procedures, and customer requirements.
• Prepare accurate post-job reports and maintain operational documentation, equipment maintenance records, and service records.

Leadership and coordination

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior field personnel.
• Coordinate with customers, drilling and completion teams, and internal stakeholders to support field planning and execution.
• Maintain customer relationships and professional communication.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline; required education level may depend on experience.
• 5–10 years of oilfield experience in completion operations.
• At least 2–5 years of extensive hands-on experience in one or more areas of core completions or smart completions.
• Relevant experience may include completion tallies, schematics, job supervision, space-out calculations, downhole gauges, ICVs, fiber-optic systems, and intelligent completion technologies.

Technical knowledge

• Knowledge and practical experience with completion systems, downhole tools, well integrity, pressure-control principles, completion tally preparation, schematic interpretation, completion design, smart completions, and intelligent well systems.
• Mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with digital field reporting systems.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous oilfield service company experience is preferred.
• Offshore experience is highly desirable.
• BOSIET/HUET, H2S, and offshore medical certifications are highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer relationship, safety, and quality capabilities are sought.
• Ability to work independently in demanding field environments and effectively within multicultural teams.

Work conditions

• Field-based work supporting onshore and offshore completion operations in the UAE and other locations as required.
• Rotational schedule of 60 days on and 30 days off, with frequent travel and extended assignments.
• Work includes physically demanding environments, extreme temperatures, and extended operational hours when required.
