Field Service Engineer II

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support thermal and rheology products, including DSC, TGA, SDT, DMA, TMA, rheometers, and informatics.
• Build customer relationships, manage expectations, communicate completed work, and provide follow-up plans.
• Follow customer compliance requirements and deliver system-level training at customer sites.
• Manage service inventory and submit daily reports documenting field work.
• Maintain knowledge of product technology and customer applications.
• Coordinate with Sales on business development opportunities and service contract needs.

Experience and capabilities

• At least 3 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, supporting, or using scientific instrumentation.
• Able to perform effective system-level troubleshooting and understand scientific application workflows and scientific software systems.
• Strong customer focus, communication, integrity, time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Education and preferred experience

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in instrumentation, electronics, electrical engineering, or another science-related field is desired; equivalent experience, training, and education are also considered.
• Previous experience with Waters thermal and rheology products is preferred.

Travel and work setting

• This is a territory-based field position requiring travel within the designated territory.
• Occasional international travel may be required for department governance, local business support, meetings, and training.
