Facilities Maintenance Technician

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities and equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Maintain lighting, doors, fixtures, and other building components.
• Assist with HVAC inspections and basic maintenance.
• Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns; report safety hazards.
• Complete minor repairs and coordinate specialized repairs as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies; record inspections and repair work.
• Support scheduled maintenance programs and coordinate with contractors and maintenance personnel.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintenance standards.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems is required.
• Safe use of hand tools and maintenance equipment is required.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and workplace safety procedures is required.
• Troubleshooting, practical problem-solving, attention to detail, and organization are required.
• Candidates should be able to work independently and in a team, communicate well, and learn new technical skills.
• Relevant technical certificate, diploma, or training is preferred.
• Previous building maintenance or similar technical experience is an advantage.
