Position overview
Performs daily accounting for assigned mutual funds, including the largest or most complex funds, to calculate correct NAVs and provide related reporting.
May validate daily NAV calculations and financial reports for timeliness and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Calculate daily NAVs for assigned funds, typically complex funds or those of strategic clients.
- Prepare financial statements, audit and year-end valuation packages, financial reports, fund distributions, and T3 income distribution factors.
- Review and reconcile fund transactions, cash flows, assets, and cash balances; investigate discrepancies, trade corrections, and corporate actions.
- Enter capital stock transactions and manual fund entries; account for cash deposits, interest, and dividend payments.
- Perform additional audit checks, analyze changes in NAV, and report NAVs to clients, representatives, and newspapers as instructed.
- Contribute to interim and year-end distribution calculations, respond to client inquiries, document procedures, and audit adherence.
Qualifications
- Completed post-secondary education.
- At least 2 years of progressive fund accounting experience.
- Canadian Securities Course.
- Advanced knowledge of office productivity software, such as Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced knowledge of InvestOne.
Salary
- Salary band is $60,000–$91,000; individual pay depends on skills, market conditions, experience, education, training, and internal equity.
