Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role based in Dubai.

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and working closely with project managers and clients.

Among the day-to-day tasks are examining and interpreting architectural and construction plans, preparing bids, managing project budgets, negotiating with vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.

The role requires close collaboration within a dynamic team to support the successful completion of construction projects.

Key Skills Required

· Civil Engineering (or Architect) degree from a recognized university with at least 10 years estimation experience in Contracting Company Operating in Dubai-UAE

· Construction cost analysis

· Quantity take-off and BOQ preparation

· Knowledge of construction methods

· Contract and tender documentation knowledge

· Software proficiency (Excel, AutoCAD, PlanSwift, CostX, etc.)

· Strong analytical and negotiation skills

Tasks and Duties

· Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQ.

· Identify scope of work, project requirements, and constraints.

· Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates.

· Analyze tender addenda and clarifications.

· Prepare commercial and technical bid submissions.

· Perform quantity take-off from drawings (architectural, structural, and MEP).

· Verify BOQ quantities and identify discrepancies.

· Prepare detailed quantity breakdowns for pricing.

· Estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

· Develop unit rates for construction activities.

· Prepare cost breakdown structures.

· Analyze project indirect costs (overheads, preliminaries, logistics).

· Include contingencies and risk allowances.

· Request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

· Evaluate supplier offers and technical compliance.

· Compare multiple quotations to select the best price and quality.

· Maintain database of supplier prices and historical costs.

· Suggest cost-saving alternatives without affecting quality.

· Propose alternative materials or construction methods.

· Evaluate cost impact of design changes.

· Identify commercial, technical, and contractual risks.

· Review contract conditions and highlight cost implications.

· Assess project logistics, site conditions, and schedule risks.

· Prepare detailed estimation reports.

· Maintain records of estimates, assumptions, and pricing basis.

· Develop cost databases and benchmarking data.

· Participate in tender review meetings with management.

· Prepare handover documents for the project execution team.

· Monitor market prices for materials and labor.

· Track construction cost trends.

· Maintain historical cost data from completed projects.
