Estimation Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural, and interior design drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for marble, granite, natural stone, and related materials.
• Estimate material, fabrication, installation, labour, transportation, wastage, and other project expenses.
• Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, rate analyses, and commercial quotations for marble and granite projects.
• Study stone types, finishes, thicknesses, dimensions, specifications, and installation requirements.
• Coordinate with Sales, Purchase, Production, Planning, and Project teams to obtain cost information.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations; identify tender information gaps, discrepancies, and risks.
• Ensure quotations reflect costs, margins, exclusions, assumptions, and commercial terms.
• Prepare tender submissions on time and revise estimates for updated drawings, client requirements, and variations.
• Maintain estimation records, pricing databases, supplier rates, and historical project cost data.
• Support Commercial and QS teams with comparisons, variation estimates, and project cost analysis.
• Maintain confidentiality of pricing, cost structures, supplier quotations, and tender information.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of estimation experience, preferably in marble, granite, natural stone, construction, or interior fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of marble and granite materials, fabrication processes, finishes, and installation methods.
• Experience in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and tender costing.
• Ability to accurately interpret architectural and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; ERP experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of UAE construction practices, supplier pricing, and tendering procedures is preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills; able to manage multiple tenders and strict deadlines.

• The position is based at the SIOM Marble & Granite Factory in Sharjah, UAE.
• The role involves coordination with internal departments, suppliers, consultants, and project teams.
• Work location is in person.
