Estimators work with consultants, contractors, accountants, and operations personnel to provide financial and budget analysis.
Estimator duties
- Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to understand the project.
- Determine production factors that influence the cost of a service or product.
- Prepare material estimates, cost estimates, and labor estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
- Manage vendor and contractor bids and use bid data to prepare detailed cost analyses.
- Present estimates to management and stakeholders.
- Compile and record actual costs.
