The role covers environmental matters for assigned projects, yards, and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop environmental requirements and implement the Environmental Management Plan.
- Support development of project HSE strategy.
- Identify and distribute information on environmental programs that incorporate sustainable development.
- Monitor operational impacts on the natural environment, identify risks, and develop adaptive mitigation strategies.
- Conduct environmental aspects and impacts analyses for working sites.
- Recommend and implement measures addressing air, water, land, noise, dust, waste, and operational processes.
- Limit, reduce, and control significant negative project impacts.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate operational processes to support continual improvement.
- Assist with environmental and sustainability aspects of service proposals, tenders, and project bids.
Knowledge and systems
- Knowledge of environmental management systems and standards, environmental issues, and scientific principles of environmental control.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry and relevant environmental legislation, consenting processes, local laws, and legislative processes.
- Knowledge of waste management controls.
- SAP functional skills are stated as a requirement.
Experience and education
- Six years total experience, five years on the job, and three years in the GCC.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management.
- Diploma in NEBOSH or Lead Auditor certificates for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 22301.
Additional credentials
- Sustainability certification, IEMA Environmental Certificate, and GSAS certification are listed among relevant knowledge and credentials.
Competencies
Leadership, resilience, quality, and agility.
Safety procedures and compliance, safety management, incident investigations, safety program development, and accident reduction programs at Level 2.
AI fluency.
