Lead environmental compliance, sustainability strategies, and auditing systems for a high-rise building project in Doha, Qatar.
Serve as the primary focal point for site environmental matters and coordinate with project management, client representatives, and state regulators.
Compliance and sustainability
- Oversee and implement the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and ensure alignment with MoECC regulations.
- Manage on-site GSAS construction practices to achieve targeted sustainability ratings.
- Establish, maintain, and continually audit the site's Integrated Management System under ISO 14001.
Site controls and reporting
- Engineer and monitor controls for deep-basement dewatering and groundwater management, structural acoustics, vertical waste chutes, and heavy-machinery emissions.
- Lead environmental incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions; submit technical compliance reports.
Education and experience
- Engineering bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- At least 10 years of environmental management experience on major civil construction projects.
- Proven high-rise development experience in Qatar or the GCC region.
Credentials
- Mandatory Level 6 Environmental Qualification, such as NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management or equivalent.
- Mandatory IRCA-accredited ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification.
- MME / UPDA Grade A or B engineer registration is described as highly preferred/mandatory, so its status is ambiguous.
- GSAS Certified Green Professional (CGP) is an advantage.
