Participate in preparing proposal cost and manhour estimates.
Project delivery and coordination
- Ensure the team understands project scope and milestones; manage change notices and assess cost and schedule impacts.
- Coordinate communication and interfaces among disciplines and procurement.
- Provide technical support and coordinate resolution of design issues and conflicts.
- Promote safe, quality, and cost-effective work practices under company and project policies.
Design, documents, and stakeholders
- Oversee preparation of specifications, drawings, calculations, reports, material take-offs, and requisitions; manage timely interdisciplinary reviews.
- Represent the project with clients, sellers, certifying authorities, and classification societies as required.
- Manage the project team and ensure designs meet project and Basis of Design requirements and applicable standards.
- Assist with project execution plans, project instructions, quality plans, change procedures, document distribution matrices, and schedules.
Controls and project support
- Review discipline scopes and cost-time-resource estimates, and ensure suitable resources, tools, and staff are available.
- Coordinate weekly progress reporting to the client, evaluate tenders for technical compliance, and ensure timely seller-document reviews.
- Prepare invoicing and coordinate timely submission to the client.
- Monitor project progress, timesheets, and overtime; attend meetings and report key issues.
- Facilitate timely approval and issue of project deliverables.
- Provide input to third-party HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, layout, 3D model, and certifying authority studies or reviews.
- Ensure adequate assistance is provided to site construction, completions, and commissioning teams.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- At least seven years directing multidisciplinary engineering design task forces, including experience in consulting or project management.
- Significant project engineering management experience with engineering or client organizations in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design, or EPC projects in oil and gas.
- Knowledge of cost estimating, planning execution, engineering disciplines, international specifications and codes, and safety and quality procedures.
- Ability to plan execution interfaces and take corrective action on engineering design; global work experience.
