The Engineering Director leads engineering strategy, technical operations, projects, and engineering teams.
The role is responsible for quality, safety, efficiency, resource management, and successful project delivery.
Engineering Leadership
- Develop engineering strategies, standards, and plans, and lead engineering projects from planning through completion.
- Manage engineering teams, resources, budgets, technical priorities, equipment, materials, technology, and operational needs.
- Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams while providing technical advice and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Technical Delivery
- Oversee engineering design, development, testing, installation, commissioning, and technical documentation.
- Review designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation, and monitor schedules, costs, quality, and technical performance.
- Resolve technical and operational issues and identify engineering risks, changes, and technical requirements.
Coordination and Compliance
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, codes, and regulations.
- Drive innovation, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
- The candidate should have extensive experience in engineering management or senior engineering leadership.
- The role requires strong knowledge of engineering design, project management, technical operations, standards, codes, safety, and regulations.
- Experience managing engineering teams, projects, budgets, and resources is required.
- The candidate should be able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Professional Capabilities
- The role requires strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, project tools, and technical systems is required.
- Commercial, financial, and risk-management awareness is required.
- Professional engineering certification or chartered status is advantageous.
- UAE/GCC engineering experience is advantageous.
