Perform aircraft avionics maintenance and repair under close supervision, following applicable standards and regulations.
Maintenance and repair
- Repair or replace defective components based on test results and technical documents.
- Calibrate equipment and perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on aircraft avionics systems.
- Conduct functional tests of repaired components with technician teams.
- Perform basic avionics equipment launch and recovery tasks and maintain launch, recovery, and maintenance logs.
- Install and maintain visual landing aids.
- Repair and maintain issues encountered during recovery missions.
Records, coordination, and safety
- Complete maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data, and historical reports.
- Report findings to supervisors and implement adopted solutions.
- Coach technicians on basic tasks and procedures.
- Follow applicable departmental procedures and safety, quality, and environmental controls.
Qualifications and experience
- Technical avionics diploma or Skill Level 5 certified avionics technician.
- At least 4–5 years of avionics maintenance operations experience at an airbase.
- Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovery processes and basic maintenance procedures.
- Understanding of jet engine structure, components, and functions.
