Key result areas

• Promote safe working practices and comply with safety legislation to protect employees, equipment, and assets.
• Implement ISO 9001:2015 standards and company policies across operations.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and restore operational efficiency.
• Ensure planned maintenance schedules are followed to improve reliability and minimize unplanned disruption.
• Manage tools, spare parts, and inventory to reduce downtime and repair delays.
• Supervise junior engineers and support their development.
• Maintain statistical, legal, and financial records for compliance and decision-making.
• Improve work procedures, cost efficiency, machine output, and operational performance.
• Maintain effective communication within the department and with peers.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of maintenance, facilities management, or engineering operations experience in manufacturing, catering, or a similar industrial setting.
• Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and implementing maintenance strategies.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
• Familiarity with safety and quality compliance, including ISO standards.

Knowledge and skills

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems; understand preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of facilities management, specialist systems, and fire safety protocols.
• Monitor equipment performance and plan resources and inventory to minimize downtime.
• Strong supervision, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.

Preferred certifications

• Certifications in maintenance management, facilities management, or safety standards such as NEBOSH or OSHA are preferred.
