Light Duty Driver

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals, catering items, and equipment to designated locations.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload goods, including carrying meal containers onto aircraft, using approved handling procedures.
• Drive assigned vehicles in line with UAE traffic laws, airside regulations, and company transport policies.
• Inspect vehicles before trips, keep them clean and roadworthy, and promptly report defects or maintenance needs.
• Maintain and submit trip logs, inspection checklists, and delivery records accurately and on time.
• Report accidents, near misses, delays, route deviations, delivery discrepancies, and other operational risks.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, colleagues, airport personnel, and aircraft crew; provide updates and follow instructions.
• Work the approved roster, remain punctual, adapt to operational needs, and undertake related duties within the role's scope.

Education and licence requirements

• High School Certificate or equivalent is required.
• A valid UAE Light Vehicle Driving Licence (Category 3) with manual transmission entitlement is required and must have been held for at least two years.
• A UAE Category 5 licence for a minibus/passenger bus up to 26 seats is preferred.

Experience and skills

• At least two years of UAE driving experience on light commercial vehicles such as panel or delivery vans; passenger-car-only experience is not accepted.
• Experience in catering delivery, food logistics, transport, or airport operations, including time-sensitive deliveries, safe driving, and goods handling.
• Requires safe and defensive driving, knowledge of UAE traffic laws and airport/airside regulations, GPS navigation, and effective time management.
• Requires accurate documentation and handling of catering items and equipment, problem-solving, and ability to manage delays, route changes, or breakdowns.
• Requires physical ability to lift and carry items and use aircraft stairs, a clean driving record, and compliance with airport access and safety requirements.
• Requires professional communication and customer service; willingness to work assigned shifts and travel across delivery locations.
