ELV Design / Project Commissioning Engineer

Role overview

Workplace and employment

• Full-time role in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, UAE; work location is in person.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review ELV designs, hand sketches, layouts, schematics, technical documentation, and tender submissions.
• Coordinate projects from design through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Work with CCTV, access control, structured cabling, intercom, PA/BGM, SMATV/IPTV, AV, gate barriers/parking management, master clock, and other low-current systems.
• Review specifications, BOQs, drawings, and scope; coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
• Inspect sites and coordinate installation; prepare test procedures and commission, configure, and troubleshoot systems.
• Coordinate supplier and system-integrator support; prepare method statements, inspection requests, test reports, and handover documents.
• Attend technical meetings, report progress, ensure work meets specifications and schedules, resolve technical issues, and support snagging and client demonstrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant ELV design, execution, testing, and commissioning experience.
• Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of ELV systems; experience with shop drawings, technical submissions, system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs; good communication and coordination skills.
• UAE/GCC project experience is advantageous; short-notice availability is preferred.
• Familiarity with ADMCC and SIRA.

• Preferred skills include ELV design, CCTV and access control, structured cabling, public address systems, testing and commissioning, project coordination, technical submittals, shop drawings, as-built drawings, troubleshooting, and client/consultant coordination.
