The role involves hazardous-area electrical equipment associated with lighting and small power, heat tracing, telecommunications, fire and gas, and instrumentation.

Key accountabilities
- Select, install, inspect, test, and maintain Ex-certified equipment in accordance with IEC 60079 requirements.
- Prepare Ex-inspection reports and compile inspection data, team reports, equipment registers, and defect lists.
- Report minor repairs and highlight critical defects.
- Gather daily progress reports and meet equipment inspection targets when assigned.
- Interpret technical drawings, documentation, and specifications for field activities.
- Follow client Permit to Work systems, site health and safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete required training and participate in Toolbox Talks, risk assessments, and safety discussions.
- Submit approved timesheets accurately and on time.
- Support other assigned project tasks, including electrical technician and Weidmuller box assembler work.
Qualifications and experience
- Comp Ex-certified electricians with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in hazardous-area electrical installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance are sought.
- A diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline from a recognized institution is essential.
- At least 2 years of hands-on electrical experience in a similar industry or field, focused on hazardous-area work, is listed as essential.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
