Electrical Technician

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, isolators, distribution boards, cables, conduits, and containment systems.
• Read electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and shop drawings; pull, gland, terminate, test, and label cables.
• Install lighting, small power, emergency lighting, and assigned ELV/electrical systems.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers, site supervisors, carpenters, ceiling workers, and other trades to avoid clashes and delays.
• Test and troubleshoot installations, rectify defects, and report issues, material needs, and hazards to the supervisor or engineer.
• Follow drawings, specifications, method statements, safety requirements, HSE/PPE rules, safe isolation, and electrical safety procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials; assist with testing, inspection, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and maintenance.
• Maintain good housekeeping and keep the work area clean and safe.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and shop drawings.
• Ability to perform electrical installation, cable work, testing, troubleshooting, and defect rectification.
• Ability to comply with project specifications, method statements, HSE/PPE requirements, and electrical safety procedures.
