Experienced Electrical Estimation Engineer role in an electromechanical company in the UAE.
The role manages tenders from RFQ receipt through bid submission and reports to the Estimation Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with technical, trade estimating, procurement, and site teams throughout tendering.
- Review RFQ documents, identify scope and design issues, and prepare RFIs.
- Provide technical direction and support for assigned tenders.
- Prepare project status and progress reports and presentations; coordinate work.
- Prepare BOQs from design drawings and verify tender quantities.
- Track supplier and subcontractor profiles and update pricing databases for market conditions.
- Run progress meetings to identify and resolve issues and respond to client needs.
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum 5–10 years as an estimation engineer in an MEP company; strong electrical technical experience is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is listed under professional qualifications; the education section labels a bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Equivalency certificate and ADQCC certificate are preferred.
Skills and tools
- Knowledge of quantity take-off tools such as PlanSwift and AutoCAD; proficiency in Excel computations and general Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, leadership, prioritization, and ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of broader construction processes and systems.
Workplace
- Work location is in person.
- Abu Dhabi commute or relocation before starting is preferred.
