Electrical Engineer – Lighting & Home Automation

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design electrical, lighting, and home automation systems to project requirements; prepare shop drawings, layouts, load schedules, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate electrical and automation works with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of lighting control and smart home systems.
• Configure and program home automation covering lighting, HVAC, curtains, security integration, and audio/video systems.
• Ensure work complies with local authority regulations, project specifications, and safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections, troubleshoot system issues, and prepare project reports, material take-offs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate schedules, support timely project completion, and provide technical support through execution and handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, lighting systems, and home automation.
• Strong knowledge of lighting design and control systems; experience with a platform such as KNX, Control4, Crestron, Lutron, ABB, HDL, or similar.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design software.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of UAE electrical regulations and standards is preferred.
• A UAE driving license is an advantage.
• Experience in luxury villas and residential or commercial projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of ELV systems, CCTV, access control, intercom, and networking is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is preferred.
