Experience and qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Requires 8–10 years of substation testing and commissioning experience.
- Requires hands-on experience with OMICRON CMC 356 and similar testing equipment.
- Requires strong knowledge of protection relays, SCADA, RTU, and telecom systems.
- Requires experience in 220kV transmission projects.
- Requires familiarity with TRANSCO procedures and standards.
- Requires troubleshooting and reporting skills.
Key responsibilities
- Perform protection relay, busbar relay, and BCU testing and commissioning.
- Check schematics and conduct functional and auxiliary-system testing.
- Prepare shutdown and energization plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Conduct CT/VT testing using specialized equipment.
- Configure and test SCMS/SCADA and GOOSE communication systems.
- Perform telecom testing related to energization activities.
- Test common alarms, RTU, LV AC/DC, and battery systems.
- Coordinate energization of 220kV OHL feeders and substations.
