Requirements and inspection planning

Review specifications, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, I/O lists, control philosophy, BOMs, and acceptance criteria.
Confirm that current approved drawings, PLC/HMI software, firmware, and technical documents are used.
Prepare or review ITPs, inspection checklists, functional test procedures, FAT checklists, and configuration records.

Receiving and electrical inspection

Inspect electrical and automation components against purchase and technical requirements; verify manufacturer, part number, rating, quantity, certification, condition, identification, and traceability.
Inspect panels, wiring, electronic assemblies, and connections; perform or witness continuity, point-to-point, polarity, insulation-resistance, earth-continuity, bonding, and short-circuit checks.
Verify installed PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, sensors, actuators, safety devices, and communications hardware against approved designs and I/O lists.

Automation and product testing

Test I/O assignments, sequences, interlocks, alarms, timers, fault simulations, emergency conditions, reset and recovery logic, and equipment feedback.
Inspect electrical and automated systems used in aircraft door, cabin emergency evacuation, cabin service, cockpit, crew rest, and over-wing exit trainers.
Test normal and emergency scenarios, simulated faults, power interruption, communication failure, and repeatability across operating cycles.

FAT, NCR, and safety

Conduct hold-point and witness-point inspections during panel build, wiring, integration, and commissioning; execute pre-FAT and FAT tests.
Maintain test evidence and snag lists, verify corrections, and confirm as-built drawings, software backups, test records, and configuration details before release.
Raise NCRs, support containment and root-cause analysis, verify corrective actions, and ensure changes are approved and traceable.
Use suitable calibrated test equipment, follow electrical isolation and PPE requirements, stop unsafe testing, and report hazards.
