A Site Electrical Engineer oversees day-to-day electrical installation, execution, and supervision at a construction site.
The role manages site labor, progress, and immediate problem-solving.
Site supervision and execution
- Supervise electrical installation works including containment, cabling, lighting, and power.
- Direct site electricians, foremen, and subcontractors to meet daily work targets.
- Interpret approved shop drawings and ensure accurate execution.
- Manage site materials, tools, and equipment to prevent shortages or damage.
Progress and coordination
- Track progress against the master construction schedule and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the project manager.
- Identify potential delays and implement recovery plans; measure completed work quantities for subcontractor payment verification.
- Resolve technical issues and clashes with civil or mechanical layouts, and raise RFIs when drawings lack clarity.
- Coordinate equipment placement reference points with the site surveyor and raise material requisitions based on site needs.
Safety, quality, and handover
- Enforce site safety protocols and conduct daily toolbox talks.
- Coordinate with QA/QC to raise inspection requests and ensure installations comply with specifications and approved method statements.
- Support testing and commissioning, mark up as-built drawings, and help clear punch-list items for handover certificates.
