An engineering team in Dubai is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a background in power generation or industrial plant engineering.
The role reports to the Chief Systems Architect.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and verify electrical calculations, load lists, and energy balances.
- Prepare single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and earthing and lightning protection designs.
- Specify generators, transformers, LV/MV switchgear, protection systems, and UPS equipment.
- Perform short-circuit, voltage-drop, and protection coordination studies.
- Support energy metering and hazardous-area electrical design, installation, and commissioning.
- Prepare accurate, issue-ready electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience in power generation or industrial plants.
- Practical LV/MV electrical engineering experience, including hands-on installation and commissioning exposure.
- Strong knowledge of cable sizing, protection systems, earthing, and electrical equipment specification.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM, Amtech, or equivalent tools.
- Comfortable independently developing engineering calculations and drawings and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
