About This Role
- Purchasing and Logistics: Generate purchase orders, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate the procurement of spares and services for ships, including in foreign ports of call.
- Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiations for price and terms, manage Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, and manage long-lead time items.
- Inventory Control: Conduct periodic physical inventories and oversee warehouse operations, including tracking inventory levels and optimizing storage.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all procured items comply with maritime safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policy, including import/export regulations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Analyze spend, create cost-saving initiatives, and prepare regular purchasing reports for management
