Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Document Controller
to join our growing construction team in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the project document control system.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, drawings, submittals, RFIs, and technical documents.
- Maintain document registers, transmittal logs, drawing registers, and correspondence records.
- Ensure proper document registration, distribution, revision control, and archiving.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding document submissions and approvals.
- Monitor document review cycles and follow up on pending approvals.
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems in line with company procedures.
- Support project teams by retrieving and managing project records.
- Prepare weekly and monthly document control reports.
- Coordinate project handover documentation and final record compilation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company procedures, and client documentation requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Document Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of UAE experience as a Document Controller in construction projects.
- Experience with high-rise, high-profile, or mega construction projects is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of document control procedures, records management, and construction documentation.
- Experience handling engineering drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and project correspondence.
- Good understanding of ISO documentation and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Aconex, SharePoint, EDMS, or similar document management systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
