Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller with experience in civil contracting and construction projects to manage, control, and maintain all project documentation efficiently.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience handling technical documents , drawings , submittals , correspondence, and project records while ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all project-related documents including drawings, contracts, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, material approvals, and correspondence
  • Ensure proper document classification, filing, tracking, and archiving both electronically and physically
  • Control the issuance, receipt, and distribution of project documents to internal teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors
  • Maintain updated logs for incoming and outgoing documents, shop drawings, material submittals, and approvals
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, QA/QC teams, procurement, and site staff for document requirements
  • Ensure all revisions and versions of documents are properly updated and recorded
  • Monitor deadlines for submissions and approvals to support project timelines
  • Prepare reports related to document status, pending approvals, and submission tracking
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and ISO documentation standards
  • Support tender and project closeout documentation when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Document Controller in civil contracting / construction companies
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation processes
  • Experience handling consultant/client submissions and project documentation cycles
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and document management systems such as Aconex, EDMS, Procore, or similar platforms
  • Good understanding of technical drawings and construction documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience working on infrastructure, building, and civil construction projects
  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi / UAE construction documentation standards
