Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior management and departments on contractual, regulatory, and operational matters; review contracts, agreements, policies, and legal documents.
• Coordinate with the Dubai Government Legal Affairs Department on legal matters, contracts, disputes, and litigation.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on Council operations.
• Support legal compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls; collaborate across departments to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Advise on intellectual property protection, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain relationships with government authorities and external legal service providers; prepare compliance reports and recommendations.
• Promote legal awareness and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in legal advisory, legal affairs, or a similar role.
• At least 3 years of experience working within a team.

Technical skills and competencies

• Expert knowledge of UAE laws, regulations, and government legal procedures; strong contract drafting, review, and management experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, dispute management, and legal risk assessment.
• Familiarity with data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Strong analytical, legal research, and problem-solving abilities; stakeholder management, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, maintain confidentiality, and deliver within established timelines.
